we have a problem on the X20DO4529 , once every few weeks we have one of the relay that goes OFF for any reason. We have changed the different module, changed 24V supply. but the problem stil comes back for time to time.
I ve read in the documentation that might come from:
Reset /warm start
restart that may put all DO to OFF
loss of communication
X2X goes off line / online and put DO to OFF
24V micro cut
put all DO to OFF
I was wondering if it possible to fix it by software /parameter
Activating black out mode
changing beaviour on link failur / output behaviour to Hold last state
If yes, how can i do it ? i put the X20BC0088 to the last firmware , how can i access these configuration , do i need automation studio PRO? or can i do it with trial ?
Here it is possible to set the behaviour in case of communication loss (blackout mode)
After compiling this project Automation Studio will create a EDS file to be imported for EthernetIP master and also a configuraiton file which can be downloaded to the BC0088 (via the webserver for example)
(As a sidenote an Automation Studio “PRO” does not exist - full or trial mode have basically no difference apart from the fact that trial mode is not allowed to be used for productive uses. As the name suggest it is supposed to be a trial)
To be honest I am unsure if you can switch the BC0088`s settings via the webinterface but I doubt it
If I would have to do this then I would used Automation Studio and the created EDS file
I forgot to mention that I think that this “blackout mode” might be dangerous to your machine.
If this (as an example) is the heating of your machine and you loose connection between PLC and BC0088 then the output will not switch off and your machine will most likely burn
Please keep this in mind
I would rather suggest to investigate why you loose outputs and fix this issue
The first one of me is theintegrated webserver of the BC0088
The second one is not an “online” screenshot. It is a screenshot of the configuraiotn possibilities of Automation Studio when you create a project for the BC0088. This then results in an EDS file for the master PLC and a config file for the BC0088
Regarding your questions:
I would anyhow do the firmware update as your BC does not show values in the webbrowser. As mentioned before this is due to the fact that the used “webengine” is too old for modern webbrowsers
If the issue is then gone is hard to say as I do not have the changelog of the firmware available
Bascially the possibilitis you see in my second screenshot can be set on all of this options
I found the way to build the achitecture (AS 6 does not have the AR real time in the .exe) i had to install AS4
i’m going to try to download the configuration and check if other systems have the same configuration (which could (i hope) explain the difference of behaviour between system)
then i can try to avoid passing to off after (failure/lost of communication/ module NOK etc. , improve time of global action / RPI.
i found all of these that can improve the behaviour. (these relays only drive other relays , there is no power ^passing though them )
