Error 6910 compiling Projekt AS4.2.7.54 with safedesigner 4.2.5.4 and SafetyRelease 1.6

Hello Community,

i have a next curious “function”. I have Projekt in AS 4.2 and changed just a bit in an *.st Task.

Compiling project i got error 6910: 1. The or section is missing, incorrect or incomplete in the .hwx file.

“C:\BrAutomation\AS42\AS\Hardware\Modules\X20SL8000.hwx”

X20SL8000 with Firmware 6.1.5.2 is used in several older project which can be compiled without any problems.

I deleted Hardware and installed again without success. I reinstalled Hardwarefild of SL8000, again no difference.

Anybody nows how this can happen?

I believe the version of the firmware is 1.6.5.2 and 6.1.5.2 is just a typo. I have just a few bullet points:

  • Can you try the latest AS service pack, 4.2.14.119?
  • Is it possible to compile the project on another PC? By trying that you should know if it’s an issue with the project or with the AS installation.
  • Which Windows version do you use?
  • Is the project under version control or do you have a zip at least? Can you revert/restore changes in *.st task and compile?

Which AR version and Safety Release did you choose in the “Change Runtime Versions…” dialog?
Make sure to choose Safety Release 1.6 (or lower) for SL80xx.

thanks for trying to help me. Yes FW is 1.6.5.2, just typo. SafetyRelease is 1.6 as wirtten in Overhead, AR is O4.26, Win10

It is possible that the Old SL8000 can´t be used with Safedesigner 4.***.

I tried with SD 3.0.18, i can compile the project but get the same Error now if i open safe designer.

No Zipfile there actually here.

I made a complete new project, just PPC and SL8000 and same problem again.

I replaced SL8000 with SL8100 in project than it would be working.

Actually it shouldn’t even be possible to select SafeDESIGNER 4.x after setting SafetyRelease to 1.6 . :thinking:

According to this help page SafeDESIGNER 3.0.18 was the last version to support Safety Release 1.6

Hello,

i can choose safedesigner 4.xx but can`t compile. So decicion makes no sence.

Safedsigner lower not running on “modern” Windows. So be cardful if doing a Retrofit of an older machine.

Change Safeplc to SL8100 or SLX :slight_smile:
